DWCL GETS GRANT FROM CHED K to 12 Transition Program

In a memorandum dated November 15, 2016, the Commission on Higher Education released the third batch of approved development and innovation projects for 2016 consisting of 7 projects. Among those in the list is DWCL’s project entitled –“Enhancing DWCL’s Institutional Quality Through Research Capability Strengthening and Intensified Industry Linkages “ . Through a provisional notice of award, the school was officially named as “GRANTEE” under CMO No. 33, series of 2016 in the K to 12 Transition Program.
The following are the components of the project, which falls under the Organizational Strengthening Category of the Institutional Development and Innovation Grants (IDIG):
• Development of policies and resources on the establishment of a research and extension office
• Establishment of a functional, independent research and extension office
• Crafting of a research agenda responsive to the regional and national development thrusts
• Research capability building
• Research publication
• Research Utilization and Linkages with Industry
The institutional engagement which was awarded a grant of more than 2 Million, will enable the school to establish a sustainable research culture, build the research competencies of the faculty and staff to undertake collaborative researches with other HEIs, industry partners, local and foreign agencies.
The project which will run for 12 months under the Father President, Fr. Reynaldo B. Jimenez, SVD, is spearheaded by the project leaders – Dr. Fredolin P. Julian, Faculty of the School of Business and Accountancy and currently the Research Committee Chair and QA Director Nimfa C. Catbagan.
