JPIA-DWCL shines in RMYC ‘17


Out of seventeen (17) competing local chapters, Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Divine Word College of Laoag (JPIA-DWCL) chapter emerged Overall Runner Up in Council Academic Tilt in the 16th Regional Mid-Year Convention with the theme “Olympus: Rise of a New Era of Excellence” at Hotel Supreme, Baguio City last September 24-26, 2017.

Winners in the Academic Tilt were: Lorence Jude Angelo Almazan and Almard Vincent Sales, Champion, Regional Finance and Accounting Quiz; Vera Joyce Bartolome, 3rd place, CAT Cup 3 (Regulatory Framework for Business Transactions); Alyssa Colobong, 3rd place, Meet the Standards (PFRS/PAS); and Lorence Jude Angelo Almazan, 6th and 8th place, Cyber Accounting Genius and JPIA Cup (all board exam subjects), respectively.

On the other hand, DWCL-JPIAns also excelled in the Non-Academic Leagues. The group of Rodelyn Calairo, Keisha Lei Juan, Neil Joshua Suetos and Raeno Jib Dionicio placed 1st runner up in Siniratura: Mural Painting. Other victors are: Rodelyn Calairo, Caroline Garalde, Liezel De Leon and Yasser Matonding, 2nd runner up, Siniratura: Body Painting; Lorence Jude Angelo Almazan, Mark Louie Corpuz and Almard Vincent Sales, 2nd runner up, JPIA Encounter; Stella Marie Andrea Llacuna and Rochelle Factores, 2nd runner up, Online Photo Contest; and Lyka Beatrice Agustin, 3rd runner up, Regional Infographics Competition.

Their coaches were Mr. Jesus Reyes, CPA and Mrs. Bibeth Corpuz, CPA, MBA. The winners in the Academic Tilt will be representing the National Federation of Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – Region 1 and CAR (NFJPIA-R1CAR) as well as DWCL to the 20th National Mid-Year Convention at Plaza del Norte and Convention Center, Ilocos Norte on October 25-28.
