DWCL Personnel in a Seminar Workshop on Professionalizing front line service and personality development alongside Classroom Management for the New Faculty

Individual excellence and expertise are DWCL core values which should be evident in the delivery of services to all stakeholders. To ensure that these values are practiced and manifested by those charged to deliver services in DWCL, a seminar on corporate communication and image development was conducted at the beginning of the school year. The participants were the frontline staff of the following offices: Registrar’s, Learning Resource Center, Dental, Medical, Accounts, Cash Section and Supply and office secretaries.

Prof. Romana L. Bitancor, the Vice President for External and Alumni Affairs shared her insights on Effective Corporate Communication and Positive Work Attitude. She encouraged the frontline personnel to adopt and practice a more positive attitude and behaviour in doing their task. She added that a positive attitude coupled with effective communication would lead to better and improved services paving the way to” make life brighter in DWCL “ as school’s theme of the year goes.

On the same occasion, Prof. Shey Pia Abaya, part- time Faculty of the Graduate School and Officer-in-charge of the College Guidance Center, made a very interesting discussion on the do’s and don’ts of personal grooming, tips on appropriate dressing and Personality and Image Development. She made herself as an example of “image transformation”. A sequel to this was a discourse by the same speaker on Effective Classroom Management with the new Faculty.
Fr. Nerio Joseph Artienda, SVD, DWCL President inspired and guided the participants with his simple message: that is to observe “the 3Ds in life: DISCIPLINE, DECENCY AND DECORUM”.

Jointly sponsored by the offices of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Human Resource Development: Dr. Gladys Jean Q. Basilio, VPAA and Alwyn Paul Albano, HRD in-charge facilitated the seminar.
